Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Weather permitting, spring preparation and cleanup of all areas shall be performed by March 31, or as soon after that date as weather and conditions permit in preparation for mowing operations. This shall include picking up litter, vegetative debris, small limbs and sticks from all maintained areas. Vegetative debris, limbs and sticks (but NO grass clippings) may be brought to the Town brush yard at no cost for disposal. 2. Mowing shall start as soon as the grass is long enough in April and shall continue into November so long as the grass continues to be long enough. The Parks and Recreation Director shall authorize the start and stop dates of each season. 3. The Town has a strong preference for all locations to be serviced in a single day on Thursdays, in order to be in their best condition for weekend usage and sporting events. In the event of rain, Friday would be an acceptable alternative. Generally, the service must occur during regular business hours and be completed prior to evening hours. Selected park and beach locations may have further requirements for completion by no later than 10:30am, and by 9:30am during summer program months. There may occasionally be additional special programs and activities, as well as Holiday programs, requiring schedule adjustments that the successful bidder will be expected to accommodate. Reasonable notice will be given for any such adjustments. 4. Weekly mowing of all areas at a height of 2½ inches throughout the mowing season. Prior to each mowing, any debris shall be removed from the location to be mowed. Trailers and equipment shall be staged at each location so as to allow access for the public and users of the locations.
