Specifications include, but are not limited to: MOWING • Mowing, trimming (weed eating), edging, and blowing to clean up debris caused by turf maintenance once a week, unless otherwise specified, during growing season (March through November). Minimum of 32 times on Bermuda and 36 times on Tall Fescue. • Grass will be edged along all sidewalks and curbs. Grass will be trimmed around all signs, fence lines, building lines, retaining walls, shrub beds, and trees. • Mowing height not to exceed 2.5 inches on Bermuda and 3.5 inches on Tall Fescue. • The use of mulching decks is encouraged to reduce grass clippings needing to be removed and to provide a natural nitrogen source. • String trimmer line is in no way to ever touch the trees and shrubs growing in the turf grass areas. Damage caused by string trimmers and mowers will be the liability of the Supplier. • Turf maintenance at University Village Apartments will not commence before 8:00 am and will cease by 6:00 pm. • Mowing patterns need to be changed on occasion to avoid causing ruts in the turf. • Intramural Athletic Field is to be mowed twice a week at a mower height not to exceed 1.75 inches and scheduled around student intramural events. In lieu of twice a week mowing, an OUHSC Landscape approved growth regulator can be applied as per directions. MOWING/DEBRIS CLEANUP • Trash and debris will be picked up prior to each mowing. Noticeable grass clippings will be removed from the lawn areas as required after each mowing. All grass clippings will be removed from sidewalks, curbs, gutters, parking areas, and building entries upon completion of each mowing. • Supplier to perform a site check before starting work which includes removing debris (tree, limb, and trash) and notify OUHSC Landscaping Services of any damages before work to be done. • Any debris accumulated from turf maintenance will be hauled off University property and disposed of at Supplier’s expense. SCALP TURF • All lawn areas will be scalped once a year. All clippings will be removed from turf areas. TURF FERTILIZATION • Bermuda to be fertilized three (3) times per year, in early May, early July, and early September. • Tall Fescue to be fertilized four (4) times per year, in early October, early December, early March, and early-mid May. • OUHSC prefers a quick-release fertilizer, 21-0-0-24 Sulfur at a rate of one pound of Nitrogen per 1,000 square feet, unless specified otherwise.
