Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Consultant will be positioned to support the District’s community relations and public participation program through a variety of focus areas that may include (1) Public Engagement: It is the District’s goal to proactively engage the public during the development and implementation of District programs. These programs have a positive impact on the communities in which they are implemented. Stakeholders must be identified for each program and outreach activities and materials must be produced for public consumption that accurately, clearly, and transparently present the District’s short and long term goals and programs. Open-houses and other public interactions should be considered to reach large groups of people at once. (2) Online Presence: Communities have grown to rely increasingly on social media and webbased platforms for information and engagement. The Consultant will work with the District to devise a strategy for an online presence that effectively communicates and engages with the public. (3) Media Relations: The public’s recent focus on water combined with economic impacts from inflation has increased local scrutiny. The District seeks assistance in developing an outreach program that is both proactive and reactive in coordinating with media outlets to share its message.
