Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Materials a. Galvanized Pipe ASTM A36, Schedule 40. Size to match existing pipe. b. Galvanized 3/8” Plate ASTM A36. c. Full, fillet weld around pipes, drains, and rafters. d. Fasteners: shall be of 410 Series stainless steel. e. Bituminous Paint: Protect the internal surfaces with a coat of bituminous paint conforming to ASTM D 1187 to prevent galvanic or corrosive action. Coating shall be applied in two coats, 9 mils dry film thickness each coat. GAF Silicon Hydrostop is also acceptable. f. Zinc Coating, ASTM A 123. Provide minimum G90 coating designation. All metal work shall be given one shop coat of zinc rich primer. Include cleaning and prep work. g. Neoprene Flashing Cement: Standard brand (asbestos-free) meeting or surpassing test methods of ASTM D 816, if required. h. Furnish and install new 24ga 304 stainless steel liner for existing gutter. 2. Installation and Workmanship Replicate sample repair at Door 67. Drawings are attached for information purposes only. The scope of work is indicated below. (1) Clean out debris in gutter. Furnish and install new liner. Minimum 12” liner on each side of the drain. (2) Fabricate, fully welded new gutter drain to meet existing downspout elevation. (3) Cut and remove existing pipe galvanized pipe as indicated in Appendix 1. Clean inside pipe wall to daylight. (4) Apply bituminous paint to all internal pipe surfaces, new and old to daylight. (5) Terminate new gutter drain and new downspout to existing drainpipe. (5) Weld new galvanize drainpipe to existing pipe and rafter. (6) Replace stiffening plates, if necessary. (7) Attach drain to stiffening plate with fastener. (8) Apply rust resistant primer and paint to all new welded joints.
