Specifications include, but are not limited to: Columbus State Community College (“the college”) seeks to build a signature building on its Columbus campus – a symbol of student success, workforce development and the power of public private partnerships. The OhioHealth Center for Health Sciences building (“Project”) will facilitate the College’s bold 10-year plan for doubling enrollment in five key health science areas: nursing, surgical technology, medical imaging, respiratory therapy, and sterile processing. With the backing of Franklin County voters, Columbus State plans to invest $66.5 million in bond proceeds from Issue 21 into capital needs to support the healthcare sector vision. Funds will be used to construct a new 80,000 square-foot health sciences classroom and laboratory building. The building is expected to meet or exceed LEED Certification criteria. The College will work closely with the City of Columbus on matters related to the public realm proximate to the site selected for building. The tentative project site is on the northeast corner of Cleveland Ave. and East Spring St. adjacent to Mitchell Hall. The building is expected to be prominent on Cleveland Ave and contribute to the sense of place of the campus as well as the Creative Campus neighborhood. Upon award of the Agreement, commence by developing the Program of Requirements. The selected A/E, as a portion of its required Scope of Services and prior to submitting its proposals, will discuss and clarify with the Contracting Authority, the cost breakdown of the Architect/Engineer Agreement detailed cost components to address the Owner’s project requirements. Participate in the Encouraging Diversity, Growth& Equity (EDGE) Program as required by statute and the Agreement. As required by the Agreement, and as properly authorized, provide the following categories of services: Program Verification, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Document Preparation, Bid and Award Support, Conformed Documents, Construction Administration, Post-Construction, and Additional Services of all types. Refer to the Ohio Facilities Construction Manual for additional information about the type and extent of services required for each.
