Specifications include, but are not limited to: Middlefield Park and Recreation is seeking a provider to utilize the latest knowledge of bituminous concrete removal and outdoor bituminous court installation, to replace the current court with a court that is functional, as well as attractive, to the citizens who use the park. Following the removal and installation, the new surface will be painted with standard lines in a color that is decided by the Middlefield Park and Recreation Commission. ● Removal of existing pavement and provide construction access to the area. ● Pavement and pavement base course cross section detail, pavement type for binder and top course, pavement thickness 3”, pavement base course material for fine grading, base course compaction requirements ● Court edge treatment, placement of topsoil wedge around perimeter for drainage, establish vegetation ● Court layout, dimensions, line widths per High School basketball court dimensions ● Proposed 1% cross slope west to east for court surface drainage (1% is typical design requirement for outdoor courts) ● Paint specifications for pavement curing period, surface preparation, filler and paint materials ● Restoration of disturbed grass surfaces by placing 4” topsoil, fertilize, lime, seed and mulch. ● Barricade access to the east parking lot during days of active construction and remove barricades at the end of each day.
