Specifications include, but are not limited to: ANNUAL INTERNAL SERVICE INCLUDES: 1. The Contractor shall open both fireside and waterside of boiler. 2. The Contractor shall clean fireside of normal soot deposits. 3. The Contractor shall flush the normal loose scale from the waterside. 4. The Contractor shall check steam, feed and blow off connections. 5. The Contractor shall check tube sheets and tubes for evidence of water leakage. 6. The Contractor shall remove water column heads and inspect water column piping. 7. The Contractor shall check condition of refractory in doors for leakage and burner throat. 8. The Contractor shall repair minor cracks in refractory and “wash-coat” as needed. 9. The Contractor shall visibly check both fireside and waterside for cracking, pitting, corrosion, erosion and scale. 10. The Contractor shall install new gaskets and seal fireside and waterside. 11. The Contractor shall meet with Water Treatment and Boiler Inspector representatives. 12. The Contractor shall check combustion efficiency on one fuel and adjust air-fuel controls for optimum efficiency. 13. The Contractor shall submit written combustion report of services performed. QUARTERLY EXTERNAL INSPECTION SERVICES with COMBUSTION TUNE-UPS 1. The Contractor shall test primary and secondary blow-down low water cutoffs, feed-water controls, water column and gauge glass. 2. The Contractor shall check pressure regulating controls. 3. The Contractor shall check burner and test flame failure controls. 4. The Contractor shall check condensate tank, pump, vent and piping to boiler for leaks, corrosion or erosion. 5. The Contractor shall check boiler breeching, stack and damper where applicable. 6. The Contractor shall check amperage draw on blower motor and feed-water pump where applicable. 7. The Contractor shall check gas control valves and pressure switch settings for proper operation. 8. The Contractor shall check all door bolts for tightness. 9. The Contractor shall check combustion efficiency on one fuel and adjust air fuel controls for optimum efficiency. 10. The Contractor shall submit written combustion report of services performed.
