Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The selected Contractor must provide an impound lot and impound lot management for City impounded vehicles and equipment. The impound lot must comply with State regulations and be located within Salt Lake City boundaries. 2. Contractor shall provide towing service for City on an as-requested basis. City reserves the right to tow any vehicle on City’s behalf using its own equipment or by other means. 3. All towed vehicles and equipment shall be transported directly to a City designated area without delays, stops or drop-offs. 4. For compensation purposes, calculation of tow time shall begin at the time of arrival of Contractor’s operator at the tow site and shall end at the time of unhook. 5. If Contractor’s operator is delayed by heavy traffic or construction zones during the tow, the extra time caused by the delay shall be deducted and the tow shall be paid at the normal and typical charge. 6. City reserves the right to cancel any tow request before arrival of Contractor’s tow vehicle for any reason and Contractor shall not be compensated for a show up fee. 7. Towed vehicles and equipment shall be left in the same condition they were in at the tow scene, unless the operator determines it is unsafe to do so (e.g., need to disconnect the driveline). Contractor’s operator shall return towed vehicles or equipment to their original condition if the operator has disconnected the driveline or made other adjustments to facilitate the tow. 8. City-impounded vehicles and equipment shall be transported to and stored at the Contractor’s impound lot. Contractor must operate in compliance with State regulations. 9. Contractor shall complete all service-related paperwork required by City.
