Specifications include, but are not limited to: Phase 1 - Research & Development: Applicants will be required to engage in a comprehensive research & development process. Targeted topics include: Nevada’s NAC 391.285 Reading Endorsement, the Science of Reading, similar practices in place across the U.S., and copies of course syllabi presently used in Nevada. A final comprehensive Literature Review is one of the deliverables due at the end of the project. Phase 2 - Project Development Plan: Applicants are required to create a “Project Development Plan”. It must include the following components: A project action plan that identifies project goals, actions that will be taken, the individuals responsible, and the targeted completion dates for major and minor stages of development. A separate 9-month timeline that highlights major activities. A “mini-plan” for all technology requirements. A schedule of regular collaborative planning meetings between team members. A schedule of monthly “Update Meetings” with NDE’s Project Coordinator. A 2-3 month “Pilot Implementation” description which will take place at the end of the project. Phase 3 - Course Development Plan: A list of the assignments of individuals or teams responsible for the creation of the course syllabi for the four identified courses is required. These teams are also responsible to create one Syllabus Template for the course syllabi. Recommended elements for the Syllabus Template include the following: Timelines for the course modules. Weekly schedule of course topics Course objectives Required reading Review of learning activities and assessments A grading rubric Additional elements may be added.
