Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall: (a) Complete a physical and visual inspection of the generator. Inspections shall include: Checking both the generator and enclosure to ensure they are clean and dry with no obvious issues. Checking for any leaks to engine, exhaust, cooling, fuel, and electrical systems; Visually inspect hoses, fittings, and connections to check for leaks and illfitting points of contact. Repair minor leaks (if applicable). Taking photo evidence of any leaks, damage, or defects. Check condition of equipment, engine and control system. (b) Lubricate necessary fittings (if needed). (c) Check fluid and pressure levels to include: Checking oil and coolant in addition to fuel and refilling fluids. Checking that fuel is reaching your generator set (genset). (d) Battery service shall include: Ensuring the battery is fully charged. Checking battery cables and battery are not corroded. Checking operation of battery charging equipment. (e) Inspect electrical wiring and components to identify worn connections and other concerns. (f) Inspect day tank and pump control. (g) Change spark plugs (only at required hours). (h) Drain water separator on diesel units. (i) Check operation of fans, pumps and louvers; exhaust system; direct current (DC) charging system; engine compression & adjust values (as needed); AC output; air and oil filter; flex connection and mountings; operation of block water heater or carburetor heater; breaker pass thru; rotor-stator-brushes; safety shutdowns; controller (test and reset) and rodent and insect infestation. (j) Inspect and adjust fan belts (if applicable). (k) Address any unusual noises, vibrations or alerts that occur while the generator is running. (l) Clean: Each unit and test run. Remove debris in and around unit. Exterior of unit housing. (m) Provide overall condition assessment. (n) Turn genset to “auto” rather than “off” after testing to allow generator to start automatically during a power outage. (o) Conclude the inspection with a digital signature and timestamp.
