Specifications include, but are not limited to: The awarded offeror will provide services to renovate the existing building constructed with a prefabricated metal building steel frame with stucco and stone veneer accents for the exterior finish. The current roof has a 3:12 sloped standing seam. The existing floor plan is relatively open with sufficient existing restrooms to support community access. Two large open spaces will support easy renovation for the program’s sorting and food prep needs. Phase 1 included the renovation of 4,100 square feet of the building to allow the program to move from an existing warehouse to begin serving the community. The renovation included prep sinks, hand wash sinks, walk-in coolers and freezers, and associated space to support receipt, processing, storage, and retail distribution to the community. Phase 1 was completed in 2020 and is currently in use. Phase 2 is federally funded by the United States Economic Development Administration (EDA) Economic Adjustment Assistance (EAA) for the renovation of the second open area of the building of approximately 1,657 square feet for the commercial kitchen and additional food storage space. This renovation includes utilities and equipment installation to support the commercial kitchen. The scope is outlined in the design by FBT and part of this RFP document. Construction materials for the proposed renovation are to support sustainable design principles including low VOC products and the use of recyclable products whenever possible. a. The Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, tools, and related services required for the performance of the contract. b. Upon request the Contractor shall provide layout plans, work plans, and written schedules to be approved by the Senior Director of Physical Plant, or his designee before work commencing.
