Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (“Client Agency”) is seeking Proposals for the construction of or providing for an Environmental Research Vessel (“Vessel”). The Vessel will be utilized by the Client Agency’s Long Island Sound Monitoring Program. The Vessel will be operated year-round to collect water quality samples in the offshore waters of Long Island Sound. Water collections are conducted with a rosette sample array deployed off the stern using an articulating A frame equipped with 24” diameter net reel. Collected samples are processed in the Vessel’s onboard laboratory. The Vessel must be a new and unused aluminum catamaran hull vessel allowing for a two (2) foot depth draft, powered by two (2) inboard diesel-powered engines with two (2) jet propulsion outdrives (motors) that meet or exceed the manufacturer’s recommended power supply, performance requirements and tolerances to ensure operational requirements. The Vessel must be capable of maintaining a twentytwo (22) knot cruising speed and be capable of reaching and maintaining a thirty (30) knot maximum speed. The Vessel Package in its’ entirety shall meet or exceed the Client Agency’s desired Vessel attributes set forth in Exhibit A, Appendix A1.
