Specifications include, but are not limited to: Loop lead-in traffic signal cable, tinned 14 AWG stranded conductors (19 by 27 AWG Class C stranding), twisted pairs, with an overall shield, electrical insulation shall be 600 volts RMS, filler material when used shall be non-metallic, moisture resistant, nonhygroscopic, non-wicking and non-absorbent when tested either as a part of the cable or by itself as a whole or in parts, overall shield shall not damage the wire, including but not limited to the cable being laid straight or formed in a 12 inch circle, minimum length of wire per reel shall be 2500 feet and each reel shall be one continuous length of cable without any splices, reels shall be non-returnable and have maximum dimensions as follows: diameter - 3 feet, width - 28 inches, hub hole - 4 inches, minimum of 3 inches, certified test report shall be provided as per the reference specification, reels shall be marked per the reference specification and shall have the purchase order number on each reel, cable shall meet I. M. S. A. Specification No. 50-2, 1997 and as noted above. The Department reserves the right to witness the testing of the cable in accordance with the referenced specification.
