Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. General: a. Visual Inspection - Visually inspect the overall condition of the unit to identify foreign objects, loose or broken fittings, guards, and components. b. Wipe off the unit - Clean oil, coolant, fuel, and acid deposits, and inspect the generator area for any abnormalities. c. The awarded vendor must follow, at minimum, the annual preventive maintenance items listed per OEM’s annual recommended preventative schedules. OEM recommendations supersede any items listed or omitted below. 2. Cooling System a. Radiator/Heat Exchanger - Visually inspect for leaks, damage, and debris. Check louver operation. b. Coolant - Visually inspect for correct level and condition of coolant (rust, oil, and contaminants), if any levels are found to be low, refill to manufacturer recommended levels. If contaminants are found, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for fluid replacement. Check coolant conditioner concentration and temperature protection. Check the filler cap gasket and sealing surface and replace the filler cap. Record levels on the Service Report. c. Hoses and Connections - Visually inspect all hoses for deterioration. Check the tightness of connections. d. Fan Drive Pulley and Fan - Check for loose or worn pulleys. Check fan operation and clearance and perform adjustments. e. Fan Belts - Inspect for wear or deterioration, check tension, pully/sheave alignment and perform adjustments. f. Jacket Water Heater - Inspect for proper operation. Check engine temperature prior to starting the unit. Record temperature on the Service Report. g. Water Pump - Visually and operationally inspect for leaks or unusual noises. 3. Fuel System – Liquid a. Fuel Tank - Visually inspect the fuel tank system for leaks and fuel level. Test tank pump for proper operation. Record fuel level on the Service Report. b. Water Trap/Separator - Drain water from the fuel tank or water separator. c. Fuel Lines and Connections - Inspect for leaks and check line brackets mounting. d. Governor and Controls - Inspect oil level, controls, and linkage for proper operation, and add oil. Record output on the Service Report. e. Fuel Filters (Primary/Secondary) - Inspect for damage, leaks, and proper operation. f. Fuel Pressure - Check for proper fuel pressure as recommended by the manufacturer. Record fuel pressure on the Service Report.
