Specifications include, but are not limited to: CATEGORY 1: DIRECT VIOLENCE PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION SERVICES (Up to $2,750,000 over 24 months, up to 10 contracts awarded). This category will support organizations working to address violence in any capacity through direct service offerings. As a reminder, special attention will be given to proposals aimed at addressing Firearm Violence, Hate-Motivated Violence, and/or Intimate Partner Violence. ACPHD is committed to the long-term strategy of reducing violence and its impact on our residents by strategically investing funds in primary prevention which means prevention violence before it occurs. Primary prevention could be achieved through: Building the capacity of a community to withstand and recover quickly from violence related incidents. Forging partnerships with organizations to collaboratively address violence at the individual, family, or community level. Establishing, revising, or promoting practices and policies that support long-term sustainable solutions to addressing violence before, during, or after its occurrence. When considering strategies for direct service initiatives, it’s important to prioritize approaches that effectively engage with the community to address specific needs. The following examples of programming are provided for reference; however, Bidders are encouraged to submit proposals that align with their community needs: Street outreach and violence interruption programs which engage trusted messengers to work directly with violence-impacted individuals to de-escalate tensions, mediate conflict, and build supportive relationships.
