Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Existing Water Storage Tank a. Stockton University currently has a flat bottom steel water storage tank. It is a reservoir with a 300,000-gallon capacity, and was constructed in 1971 by Fisher Tank. The tank size is 47 feet Diameter and 24 feet high. The storage tank was inspected in 2010, 2018, and most recently on December 7 th, 2021 by Mumford-Bjorkman Associates, Inc. (MBA). The inspection was conducted via visual means by MBA, in the presence of representatives of Montrose and Stockton University. MBA performed a visual inspection of the exterior and used a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) for the interior of the tank. b. In particular, there is deterioration of the roof structural members, exterior paint, and the interior coating. The degradation of both the roof structural members and the interior coating has accelerated in the time period of 2018 through 2021 as compared to the assessment in the time period of 2010 through 2018. The 2021 inspection also noted conditions that were described as potential floor plate buckling. 2. Proposed Water Tank Storage a. The proposed new reservoir tank will have a nominal capacity of approximately three hundred thousand (300,000) gallons. The tank base is set at grade elevation, approximately 37 feet Mean Sea Level (MSL). The shell of height of the tank is approximately 25.5 feet from the base set at grade. The approximate diameter is 47.5 feet. The above ground tank is installed on a reinforced concrete support pad with a minimum of 6-inch thickness. The tank will have a steel flat bottom. b. The construction of the new tank is nearly identical, in size and shape, to the existing water storage tank. A reservoir is a cylinder-shaped tank that is ground supported with a shell height less than or equal to the diameter. Generally, a reservoir is the most economical water tank to construct. The tank will be constructed of factory coating bolted steel panels, either glass fused to steel, or powder coated steel panels, depending on the bid winner.
