Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Tucson Unified School District is currently divided into five (5) District Regions for Elementary and Middle school students. Our intent is to have at a minimum five (5) coaches per region to support teachers, provide classroom support, including behavior modification and redirection, to assist students in learning social and communications skills, to enhance student’s abilities to function more independently, and how to apply these skills beyond their classroom environment. Only those students enrolled in ACCCHS will be eligible to participate in the programs as we do not anticipate District funds being utilited to fund these services. TUSD requires that any awarded organization, including their Behavioral Coaches, will secure parental consent, enrollment in AHCCCS, and that services maintain frequent communication and contact with parents of students receiving services. Behavioral Coaches will be responsible for participating in all teacher, counselor, administrative or MTSS requested meetings regarding matters of student discipline, grades, or attendance. We will award to a vendor/s who can provide an In-school Behavioral Health Program, which will support classroom coaching for our teachers, assist in strengthening relationships with all students (including those with mental health challenges), increase the use of positive behavioral supports within the classroom, and help in managing disruptive student behavior.
