Specifications include, but are not limited to: Mill and Overlay: Oakwood Subdivision, Stonebridge Subdivision Areas B & C, Evergreen Road Locations of street repairs will be marked by the City of Lakeland prior to milling. Street repairs shall be made prior to milling. In areas marked for repair, the existing asphalt pavement shall be removed within the marked area. Edges shall be trimmed to a straight vertical line and tacked. All loose or disturbed pavement and base material shall be removed and disposed of. Where soft soils are encountered, the area shall be over excavated a maximum of three (3) feet and backfilled with sand. If the soils are still unsatisfactory, a nonwoven geotextile shall be installed in the bottom of the excavation prior to backfilling. Asphalt repair shall be two inches (2”) Mix No.1 TDOT 411.E surface course hot mix asphalt placed on eight inches (8”) of a granular base (LA610). Street repairs shall have a total of three inches (3”) of asphalt. Asphalt shall be installed according to City of Lakeland and TDOT Specifications. All designated streets shall be milled and a two-inch (2”) overlay placed. The milled surface shall be paved within 72 hours. A proof roll shall be conducted on the milled surface to identify any remaining repair locations. The proof roll shall be scheduled within 24 hours of the completion of milling. Asphalt overlay shall be Mix No.1 TDOT 411.E surface course hot mix asphalt. A tack coat shall be applied to the milled surface prior to placement of the asphalt. During milling operations, if the existing asphalt pavement is observed to be less than 2 inches, the contractor shall place 2 inches (2”) of base asphalt (TDOT 307-C) and one and a half inches (1.5”) of Mix No. 1 TDOT 411.E. City Hall Staff Parking Lot: Existing gravel parking lot shall be regraded to prepare for placement of asphalt. Some areas will require leveling with LA610. Base asphalt shall be 2” compacted 307-C, in place, and shall meet all current City of Lakeland specifications. Surface asphalt shall be one and a half inches (1.5”) of Mix No. 1 TDOT 411.E. A tack coat shall be applied to the surface prior to placement of asphalt. Parking lot striping shall be non-reflective paint placed according to the layout provided in Appendix A.
