Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. SCOPE OF WORK A. This specification covers the plant chemical Lime to be delivered by tanker truck or other appropriate transportation vehicle to the West Warwick Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 1 Pontiac Avenue, West Warwick, RI between 7:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. (weekdays). The chemicals covered by this specification are intended for use in phosphorus removal, pH stabilization, nitrification/de-nitrification, disinfection and odor control processes at the plant as well as miscellaneous usage at remote pumping stations within the Town. B. The prices quoted shall be effective through June 30, 2026, unless extended by mutual consent annually for a period not to extend past June 30, 2027. The unit prices shall be based on delivery to the West Warwick Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility. 2. QUALIFICATIONS OF BIDDER A. Each Bidder shall present evidence that he is normally engaged in the purveying the type of material, supplies or equipment bid on. The Bidder shall make himself thoroughly familiar with the contents of the notice before submitting his proposal; the Bidder automatically acknowledges and accepts all the provisions, conditions and specifications of this notice; no bid shall be considered from Bidders who are unable to show that they are normally engaged in the purveying of the required type of material, supplies or equipment. 3. QUANTITIES A. The Town reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantity in accordance with plant requirements. B. For Bidding purposes, the Town is providing the following plant chemical storage tank capacities and estimated delivery quantities: 1. Hydrated lime silo stores 3,500 to 4,000 cubic feet of product. Deliveries are estimated to be between 22 and 24 tons. Lime shall be blown in at a pressure not to exceed 10 pounds per square inch (psi).
