Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall perform lead removal and berm restoration services of the firing range at the Sheriff’s Weapon Training Facility. The range consists of three live fire pistol ranges, a rifle range, a defensive tactics building, and an administration building. The live fire ranges consist of covered shooting positions, target postings, and earth backstop positions. The Contractor shall: 4.1. Conduct lead mining operations to recover > 90% of lead in the berm and downrange area beyond the berm. 4.2. The Contractor shall be responsible for the appropriate handling, disposal, and/or recycling of all material removed from the range. 4.3. The Contractor shall prepare a brief Work Plan, Environmental Protection Plan and Health and Safety Plan outlining how work will be conducted and coordinated to ensure protection of human health and the environment. 4.4. The Contractor shall attend meetings, prepare daily progress reports and attend status meetings. 4.5. The Contractor shall be responsible for preparing the berm surface after mining operation to ensure the design of the berm is restored in support of Sheriff training requirements, Sheriff Department specifications, and industry standards; including seeding the soil with native vegetation for soil retention. 4.6. The Contractor shall restore the existing drainage system to prevent water from accumulating on the range area. 4.7. The Contractor shall prepare a simple letter format, specific final report documenting all field activities and final disposition of all materials. 4.8. The Contractor shall propose the most cost-effective method for lead recovery that complies with all regulatory requirements and which maximizes the use of proceeds from lead recovery to cover costs associated with these activities
