Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University is searching for a transportation solution to meet the changing landscape of student need and community enhancement. Three references to be presented to University by all bidders. Elements that this new system must contain, but not limited to are: ● A transportation system that combines 2 modes, Fixed Route and On Demand capabilities. ● The system must be able to support the following On Demand capabilities: o the ability to draw custom service areas or zones o the ability to enable and disable rider pooling or shared rides at any time o the ability to define and adjust scheduling constraints o the ability to control service(s) between zones through settings such as: the day of the week or the time of day o the ability to build service-policy rules to govern the service o the ability to configure different service and scheduling rules based on the type of rider (i.e. ride class support) ● The On Demand system shall be a closed single sign on (SSO) system using University ID as the identifier. Current students, faculty, and staff are the only eligible riders. The SSO working system shall be developed within the IT structure of the University and the vendor. ● The system’s On Demand capability must support automatic dispatching of rides. ● The system must automatically notify the rider if their on-demand ride is more than 5 minutes late. ● The system must support the ability to subscribe to notifications if a vehicle is running late and if a vehicle is approaching by a selected number of minutes on specified days of the week. ● The system must be able to offer both modes on a singular administration platform. ● The system must support a single screen for dispatchers to support both modes. ● The system must be able to offer both modes on a singular real-time GPS app. ● The system must be able to capture GPS every 1-2 seconds from vehicles. ● The system must support the ability to provide General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) and GTFS-RT (Real Time) data out of the box. ● The system must include bus driver-driven dispatch utilizing real-time technology on a state-ofthe-art tablet or equally effective means. ● The system must support real-time traffic data for True-Time arrivals to riders, drivers, and dispatch. ● The system must support configurable points of interest to be visible in the rider mobile app including a description and photos. ● The system must support pre- and post-vehicle inspection native in the driver application. ● The system must be able to log incidents with attachments.
