Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Airplane designed specifically for firefighting and capable of loading by skimming the surface of a suitable water source. 2. Aircraft certified under FAR Part 23, with a standard or restricted category airworthiness certificate. 3. Minimum water/retardant tank capacity of 799 US gallons. 4. Cruise speed of 140 kts, TAS or more. 5. Minimum aircraft payload of 1 200-pound pilot & 625 US gallons of water/gel with 2.5 hours fuel at 3,000 ft. PA and 25 degrees C. 6. Must have installed an infrared enhanced vision system with cockpit display to enable the pilot to see through smoke and haze and facilitate fire target acquisition. 7. Must be turboprop with a PT6A-67F engine or State approved equal. 8. The aircraft must be equipped with an on-board gel blending system capable of carrying up to 40 gallons of liquid gel concentrate. 9. The water tank must have a computer controllable fire gate/door system that allows the volume of the tank to be released in selected drop configurations including full salvo, reduced flow/extended trail, or partial tank (split) drops. Tank venting will be appropriate for the tank capacity. The system must include an emergency dump system with a minimum of one additional back-up system. Preference will be given to lighter weight fire gates that enhance aircraft payload. Unmodified agricultural gates are not acceptable. 10. Aircraft must be equipped with a single loading port or dual loading ports that facilitate loading from either side. Target Aircraft: AT-802A turbo prop amphibious type 4 scooper; Target Support Vehicle Requirement: 1. One fully operational and maintained, fuel/service/support vehicle with minimum water capacity of 1,600 gallons per aircraft. 2. All required couplers to interface with State and Federal equipment. 3. Ability to mix and load liquid water enhancing gels i.e. Blazetamer. 4. The ability to transport a tote of water enhancer for use at remote locations. 5. The capability to mix 800 gallons of gel or retardant in one vessel. 6.
