Specifications include, but are not limited to: Construct a new visitor center, maintenance shop, restrooms, utilities, roadways, parking infrastructure, and all required related work. Designer Scope: The Project constructs an approximately 3,500 square foot ADA-compliant visitor center and parking to accommodate Recreational Vehicle (RV) visitor parking. The visitor center will also be utilized for exhibits and displays, and include conference and meeting rooms, park personnel offices, and visitor restrooms located within the facility. The Visitor Center is to be designed to conform to the Tennessee State Parks Design Guideline: Creating Places for Adventures and Experiences. An approximately 1,800 square foot maintenance facility is also to be constructed. Additionally, accessible parking and restroom improvements are included at the existing scenic overlook, existing Mitchell Ford canoe/kayak launch and four or more existing trailheads. Design will incorporate infrastructure improvements at the various sites, including, but not limited to, roadway improvements, extension of electrical services, installation of wells and/or water storage tanks in locations water supply is not available, and installation of septic infrastructure to support new toilet facilities. Septic design shall be subject to special requirements for systems within a flood plain at one or more of these sites.
