Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall furnish all goods and services necessary to analyze biological samples. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit sealed proposals to establish a contract, through competitive negotiation, with an experienced, accredited, and qualified testing facility to perform forensic genetic genealogy (FGG) on biological samples from long-term unidentified remains. The samples are often degraded or limited in supply; therefore, a lab with significant experience and success rates in obtaining a DNA profile are necessary to complete this work. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) will establish a contract with one or more private testing laboratories to analyze postmortem biological samples for identification and perform advanced DNA and genealogical research on degraded and possibly compromised samples from longterm unidentified remains.
