Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The work to be performed consists of all labor, equipment, materials, and other facilities necessary and proper to provide grit chamber cleaning and disposal services at the Harvey Avenue and Green Street Wastewater Treatment Plants, and sludge removal and disposal services at the Upper Dublin and Tradesville Wastewater Treatment Plants. B. This contract shall commence on the contract date and shall continue for a minimum period of one (1) year, but may be renewed in writing for up to an additional two (2) year term at the option of the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority based on the prices included in this bid. C. Grit shall be removed from the Harvey Avenue and Green Street Wastewater Treatment Plants located at Doylestown Borough, Bucks County, Pa, and transported to a PA DEP approved disposal facility. All work shall be performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., or otherwise at the request and direction of the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority within twenty-four (24) hours of notification to the Contractor. D. Grit shall be removed monthly or otherwise at the request and direction of the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority within twenty-four (24) hours of notification to the Contractor, from grit chambers located at the Harvey Avenue and Green Street Wastewater Treatment Plants. Suitable equipment shall be supplied and used by the Contractor to pump grit out of grit chambers. E. The grit chamber volume at the Harvey Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant is approximately 2,500 gallons. The grit chamber volume at Green Street Wastewater Treatment Plants is approximately 2,500 gallons. This data is provided for information purposes only. F. Grit shall be considered to include gravel, sand, heavy particular matter and other heavy solid waste removed from raw sewage, excluding radioactive, volatile, highly flammable, explosive, and biomedical waste materials. G. Sludge shall be removed three (3) times per week or otherwise at the request and direction of the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority, from the Upper Dublin Sewer Treatment Plant. Suitable equipment shall be supplied and used by the Contractor to remove and haul sludge from the sewer treatment plant.
