Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall: 3.1. Ensure that personnel assigned to the Hospital hold current licenses from the Arizona Board of Barber Examiners or the Arizona Board of Cosmetology. 3.1.1. Present updated copies of licenses on a yearly basis. 3.1.2. Display a valid license to practice barber and/or cosmetology services. 3.2. Provide necessary barber and cosmetology equipment and supplies, including but not limited to: 3.2.1. Shears, clippers, capes, towels, laundry, and disinfectant. 3.3. Provide haircuts to male and female patients at the Hospital, in accordance with the standards of the profession, as requested by the Hospital. Beard trimmings are performed as requested by the patients. 3.4. Perform patient haircuts in the Hospital’s barber shop(s); ACPTC resident’s haircuts and beard trimming are performed solely within the ACPTC location. 3.5. Provided and maintain the necessary tools (i.e. clippers, shears, combs, brushes, etc.), special toxics (colors, relaxers, etc.), dryers, sterilization solution, neck strips, aprons, and towels to meet the standards established by the Arizona Board of Barber Examiners or the Arizona Board of Cosmetology. 3.6. Maintain a neat, sanitary and orderly work area per recognized barber and cosmetology standards. All hair-cuttings are to be removed from the floors of all cutting locations by the end of each day. 3.7. Launder their own materials offsite. 3.8. Provide Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals used in barber and cosmetology services as well as the cleaning and sanitizing process to the Hospital Safety Officer. 3.9. Ensure employees are proficient in English to effectively communicate with Hospital and ACPTC staff, patients and residents. 3.10. Have knowledge of and ability to perform the following barber services: 3.10.1. Ability to address the grain and patterns of Afro American Hair. 3.10.2. Knowledge of issues surrounding the various skin disorders associated with curly and over curly hair, and the ability to properly edge curly hair to avoid skin disorders. 3.10.3. Ability to provide a “fade” haircut.
