Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of these projects is to repair levee segments in order to make the levee safer by reducing the steep slope, improving stability and seepage to meet the federal requirements. Where possible, the project will integrate strategies for climate resilience, environmental improvement, and sharing the cultural history of the region. 7.1. Phase 1: Pre-design and Design Phases 7.1.1. Pre-design: The pre-design phase of the projects, at a minimum, will include: • Define design objectives and criteria. • Determine all permitting requirements and appropriate flood control district exemptions to permits. Prepare permitting documents including drawings and figures. • Perform any geotechnical exploration efforts necessary to complete design. Refer to supplied Attachments for existing geotechnical information. • Begin permitting efforts and submissions to maintain a Ready for Construction (RFC)
