Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Connecticut DEEP Division of Forestry is soliciting quotes for a 56-acre invasive plant control project in an area off Cossaduck Hill Rd. (Rte. 201), in North Stonington, CT. The plants to be treated are predominantly Japanese barberry, multi-flora rose, Asiatic bittersweet, and winged euonymus. DEEP is requesting that any other non-native invasive plants encountered during field work be treated as well. The invasive population is moderate to heavy throughout the understory of the forest. Approximately 20 acres of the treatment area was mowed (stems <3”) with a fecon mower in fall of 2023. Access is through a state-owned gate on Cossaduck Hill Rd (Rte. 201). The perimeter of the proposed treatment area is recorded with GPS and files are attached to the RFP email.
