Specifications include, but are not limited to: Metal carports shall be constructed/assembled between selected storage containers that are approximately 24 feet apart and set/anchored on a gravel parking area. Carport Dimension Breakdown: Overall width: 24 feet (outside of leg to opposite outside of leg) Overall length: 35 feet (outside of leg to opposite outside of leg, may have roof overhang for total of 36 feet of roof) Leg height: 12 feet Roof Pitch: 3/12 Side sheets (both sides): 18 inches Metal carports shall have “bow eaves” and to be open ended (no gable). Metal carport roofs shall be 3/12 pitch. Metal carports shall have 18 inches of side panel on both sides. Metal carports shall have a wind certification of 140 miles per hour. Maximum rafter/post spacing shall be 5 feet Framing members (rafters, legs, and base rails) shall be 2 ½ inch by 2 ½ inch, 14 gauge tube steel. End wall columns (posts) shall be equivalent to side wall posts in size and spacing. Roof and side panels shall be 29 gauge galvanized metal panels fastened directly to framing members. For roofs and side panels, average fastener spacing on-centers along rafters or hat channels, and columns shall be 10 inches maximum. Fasteners shall consist of #12, 14 by 3/4 inch self-drilling fastener (SDF) and must use control seal washer with exterior fasteners. Four ground anchors (Helix ground anchor, or equivalent) shall be installed for each base rail.
