The state faces challenges in attracting and retaining educators, particularly in remote or underserved areas. The campaign aims to raise awareness of career opportunities in the state showcasing the unique advantages of working in Alaska's educational landscape. By strategically promoting the rewarding aspects of teaching in the state, the ultimate goal is to significantly increase the pool of qualified applicants, fostering the growth of a dedicated and skilled teaching workforce across diverse regions in Alaska. The reach of the campaign should initially include national efforts with the option to expand to international efforts in the future. The international recruitment would likely include specific attention to repatriation. DEED is interested in leveraging the skills and experiences of American teachers currently working abroad. These efforts could include but are not limited to targeted outreach, networking events, and collaboration with international schools.
