Specifications include, but are not limited to: Tokheim Park is located to the northwest side of the Cedar Rapids. The park is in the Timecheck Area Neighborhood. Tokheim is a small park with only a playground and future plans for community gardens. The existing playground is being replaced with a new playground due to deterioration from age. The playground structure will be a 2–5-year-old structure. The Parks and Recreation Department will be using the following specifications in replacing the Tokheim Park Playground. SCOPE OF WORK - All structures shall meet the most recent ADA, ASTM and CPSC requirements and specifications for playground equipment. The City would like 1 play structure that is a 2-5 year old play structure. Deck heights and play events for the structure should reflect use by a 2-5 year old user. It is the intent of the City that this playground should contain as many Universally Accessible features as is practical. The City would like a ramp to be the main access to the play structure as well as ramps between platforms as needed. An accessible transfer point may be a secondary access. Accessible transfer points are not considered a play event and will not be counted in the event total, neither will accessible ramps. All posts for the 2-5 yr old structure shall be a minimum of 5” diameter o.d. pipe, or an approved equal with written approval of the landscape architect 48 hours prior to bid submittal deadline. All posts shall have a powder coat finish after welding is completed. Steel posts shall be galvanized prior to powder coating. Specify the type of post to be used (steel or aluminum) and list the gauges of all posts and decking to be used on the structure. All welding shall be continuously welded and all welds shall be by certified welders tested per structural welding code specifications for steel. All decks shall be plasti-coated 12 guage steel. All fasteners shall be stainless steel. Include the total weight of all components in the bid.
