Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. BED CARE: • Weeds to be removed by hand or spraying on an every other week basis; • Beds to be raked to remove debris (pine needles, cones, leave, limbs, etc.) every other week; • Light pruning to be done as needed to keep overgrowth from encroaching into parking spaces, buildings, fences and walkways. • Shrubs and trees to be fertilized as needed throughout the growing season; • Pre-emergent herbicide application once in Spring; • Spring and Fall cleanup. (Leaves, branches, debris, etc.). B. WALKWAYS/PARKING AREAS: • All walkways and/or outside areas (concrete, asphalt, pavers or decks) to be blown weekly to obtain a clean appearance. Blown materials shall be collected and removed from site. • All shrubs, bushes and trees to be pruned or cut back or up (7 feet high off sidewalk) from sidewalks and walkways monthly, or more often if needed. Full width of sidewalk needs to be free and clear of encroachment. • Fall leaf clean up to start in October and continue weekly until end of season. C. IRRIGATION SERVICES: • Spring start up; • Winterization of irrigation system; • Irrigation repairs to be performed by the City. • Irrigation system to be turned on for a 2-minute check on each zone every other week to verify system is functioning properly ensure sidewalks/streets/parking lots are not being watered and/or identify broken heads or nozzles. Sprinkler heads and nozzles to be adjusted if necessary. • All irrigation time clock adjustments to be performed by the City of Bend. Adjustment recommendations will be communicated to the City of Bend Fire & Rescue. D. IRRIGATION REPAIRS: To ensure the proper function of irrigation systems throughout the growing season, minor irrigation repairs to me be made on a time and materials basis agreed upon by the City and the Contractor prior to the start of work. Examples include clogged nozzles, broken irrigation heads, and cracked or broken pipes E. LAWN CARE: • Weekly mowing May through October; • Every other week April and November (unless required more often); • Lawn clippings to be removed from property after each visit; • Lawns to be edged every other week; • Lawn fertilized throughout the growing season to ensure a healthy and aesthetically pleasing lawn; • Lawn weeds to be spot sprayed as needed. • Aeration and thatching of lawns each spring. F. ADDITIONAL SCOPE OF WORK: • Weed control in all landscaping beds. • Shrub fertilization two times each growing season. • Fertilize turf a minimum of three times each growing season. • Blow and sweep sidewalks, entry and parking lots weekly after mowing. • Light layer of new bark once a year. • Remedy landscaping issues immediately or within 48 hours of being notified cy the City. • Monitor and notify property owner for landscaping and needed improvements outside the defined scope of work. • Keep grounds attractive and well maintained during the growing season.
