Specifications include, but are not limited to: Coconino County and the Court intends to offer a full-service home detention and alcohol monitoring program utilizing a comprehensive program with a designated contractor that will provide all equipment and services using global positioning satellite (GPS) technology as well as installation, monitoring, reporting and removal services for the Superior and Justice Courts in Coconino County. Participants will typically be placed on home detention for periods of 5 to 30 days but may be for longer periods in some cases. There may also be cases in which an individual will be placed on the program shorter than 5 days. The Judge of the respective court will determine at the time of sentence or pre-trial release whether a participant is eligible for the home detention and electronic alcohol monitoring program. An eligible participant cannot constitute a risk to himself/herself or other members of the community. For a person to be eligible to participate in the program under A.R.S. § 11-251.15, the person also cannot have a past history of violence. It is the sole discretion of the Judge at the time of sentencing or pre-trial release if the defendant is eligible for home detention/alcohol monitoring program.
