Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Bureau of Engineering (BOE), Geotechnical Engineering Division (GED) is requesting a Task Order (TO) Proposal from a consulting firm (Consultant) for the Verdugo Hills Pool Project (Project). The Project site, as shown on Figure 1 – Vicinity Map, is located on the southeast corner of Hillrose Street and Irma Avenue. The Project address is 10654 Irma Avenue, Tujunga, CA 91042. The GED is the Geotechnical Engineer of Record for the Project. The Project includes construction of the following: A pedestrian access ramp on the west side of the existing administration building. The ramp will extend from the sidewalk on the east side of Irma Avenue to the west entrance of the building. The ramp will be approximately 11½ feet wide, and the ramp wall(s) will retain up to about 8 feet of soil. Four (4) security light poles. We understand the proposed light poles may be up to approximately 50 feet high. The light poles will be supported on cast-in-drilledhole (CIDH) piles. Concrete benches and planter walls. Security fencing. Demolition and reconstruction of the northeast portion of the existing parking lot. The GED requires an experienced team (Consultant) to work under our direct supervision on an as-needed basis. The Consultant shall provide geotechnical observation and testing services during construction. The GED will provide a minimum of 24 hours of notice to the Consultant from the time the Field Technician is required to report to the Project site. A Deputy Grading Inspector (DGI) is also required for this Project. The work will likely demand a relatively quick response time. The Field Technician and DGI shall only make site visits when instructed to by the GED. The Consultant shall not be paid for non-consecutive inspection visits that are not authorized by the GED. If the Field Technician / DGI is late or otherwise cannot conduct inspections as scheduled, the GED Project Manager shall be informed immediately.
