Specifications include, but are not limited to: Up to 300 elk will be euthanized and taken to a meat locker to be processed, and then donated to the foodbank or homeless shelter. The meat locker will process the animals as they are brought in over a two month period. DWR employees or Deseret employees will deliver full, skinned carcasses or quartered aimals and pickup meat once processed to donate. The vender must be within 100 miles of the Deseret Ranch House at 40 Main Ranch Way, Woodruff UT. Meat will be processed with standard cuts which include ground meat, steaks and roasts. All meat will be donated to the foodbank or homeless shelter. Elk will be euthanized on a varied schedule based on shooter availability between January !February 28, 2024. All euthanized elk will be taken to the meat locker within 24 hours of euthanasia. Each animal will be given an ID to track disease sampling. Meat from each animal will be kept together based on each animals ID. All elk should be processed and donated by March 30, 2024.
