Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Performing Construction Inspection/Observation services for various types of construction Projects as referenced above. • Performing quality assurance work associated with the various types of construction projects. • Provide full time on-site inspection/observation services during periods of active construction. Observation of the construction activity to verify conformance with the plans and specifications approved by the City of Norwalk. Notify the City of Norwalk regarding observed deficiencies in the work. • Prepare daily inspection/observation reports (I.R.’s – Form CON-134) covering the work in progress (including any required sketches), documenting all construction activity, including delays to construction, unusual events, visitors to the work site, etc. Provide coordination of the construction activity with the City and advise the primary contact at the Norwalk D.P.W. of the status of construction activity. • Receive instruction from and coordinate with the primary contact at the City to provide clarification and field support of the contract documents when required. • Provide measurements, computations, or checking of quantities of work performed and quantities of materials completed and accepted in place for partial and final payments to the Contractor. • Provide very limited office engineering support for the Construction Inspector/Observer during the duration of Project Construction and closeout. For planning purposes, include an allowance of 20 hours for these services should they be required. • Arrange times for and witness material testing to verify conformance with the approved plans and specifications. • Complete a final review of the completed construction with Norwalk D.P.W. staff and prepare a punch list of the corrective actions required.
