Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Workforce Services (DWS) – Eligibility Services Division (ESD) determines eligibility for state and federal public assistance programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Child Care, Medicaid, and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). DWSUnemployment Insurance Division (UI) determines whether or not a claimant is eligible for unemployment benefits. In order to determine if a person and/or family is eligible for one or more of the public assistance programs or unemployment benefits, verification and validation of a customer’s or claimant’s employment and/or income is required.
