Specifications include, but are not limited to: K: The district will select K-12 mathematics education providers through a request for proposals process to provide OAS-aligned, student-centered mathematics instruction to kindergarten through grade 12 students that: a.) Align comprehensively to the OAS as defined by the Oklahoma State Board of Education (OSDE) except for courses that may not have OAS, including, but not limited to, Algebra Fundamentals (4405), Intermediate Algebra (4418), and College Board Advanced Placement mathematics courses. b.) Support the learning progressions emphasized in OAS so the curriculum is coherent within grades and across grade bands. c.) Provide opportunities for students to regularly use the OSDE’s Mathematical Actions and Processes (MAPs) to gain a deep understanding of the content. d.) Provide explicit examples for students to demonstrate independent progress to develop proficiency in the OAS. e.) Print and/or digital professional resources provide guidance and support for teachers to collect, interpret, and act on data about student progress toward the OAS. f.) Provide teachers with guidance to build their own knowledge and to give all students extensive opportunities and support to explore key mathematical concepts, including “Attention to Developing a Productive Mathematical Disposition” per indicator 2f. of the Oklahoma State Textbook Committee’s approved rubrics for Mathematics for grades PK-5 and 6-12.
