Specifications include, but are not limited to: The successful bidder shall conduct NFPA inspections and testing of all fire alarm system panels, control units, switches, power supplies, batteries, fuses, ground fault monitoring, auxiliary, initiating, and devices. Inspection and Testing: A. Annual fire alarm equipment testing and checking shall include the following 1. Inspect and determine if the fire alarm and detection system is in service and satisfactory condition. 2. Inspect for any changes or modifications of the fire alarm and detection system. 3. Check the general condition of the fire alarm panel and related equipment. 4. Inspect and test all smoke and heat detectors as per manufacturers’ specifications. a.) When conducting testing (NOT pass/fail, all sensitivity readings shall be recorded and compiled for final report submittal. b.) This includes addressable devices, this is important to determine the units are working to specifications, 5. All facility(s) smoke and heat detector shall be tested and documented as noted in item “4” above; this includes detectors in HVAC ductwork and in close proximity to transformers. 6. Inspect all fire alarm control panels and remote fire alarm panels. 7. Inspect and test all enunciator panels and zones. 8. Inspect all batteries. 9. Inspect and perform tests on all output relay activations. 10. Inspect and exercise all signals and tamper switches and low pressure alarms. 11. Inspect and verify all signals are received from by Central Station Monitoring. 12. Inspect and exercise all control valves and switches. 13. Test non-restorable heat detector circuits by stimulating its electrical operation at the wiring connection. 14. Function test all accessible heat actuating devices (such as, duct dampers and detectors, tamper switches, flow switches, etc.), both electrically and pneumatically, as per manufacturer’s specifications. 15. Inquire as to changes in general occupancy environment, operations, and conditions related to the fire alarm and detection system in accordance with NFPA standards. 16. During testing of the fire detection system, outputs will be operated for the purpose of equipment shutdown, start-up, and HVAC smoke control.
