Specifications include, but are not limited to: 7.1 Pilot in Command and Relief Pilot(s) Requirements. 7.1.1 The Contractor must furnish a pilot for each day the aircraft is required to be available. 7.1.2 Pilots shall possess a Certificate of Operations issued by FAA under FAR Part 133, or appropriate equivalent authorization from country of registry authorizing (a) carriage of fixed external loads and (b) jettisonable loads suspended from a load-carrying device. 7.1.3 Contractor shall furnish a pilot and relief pilot for the helicopter, who meet and maintain in effect during the term of the Contract the minimum qualifications listed below: 7.1.3.1 Pilots shall possess a current and valid FAA commercial pilot certificate, or equivalent rating from the country of registry, and other appropriate helicopter ratings. 7.1.3.2 The pilots must meet USFS/OAS Carding specifications, as provided in Section 4. 7.1.3.3 Pilot-in-command (PIC) flight time as listed below (ODF may require Contractor to substantiate PIC time with logbooks): 7.1.3.3.1 PIC - 1500 hours; 7.1.3.3.2 Turbine Powered Helicopter flying hours - 250 hours; 7.1.3.3.3 In each weight class of helicopter to be flown - 100 hours; 7.1.3.3.4 Time in preceding 12 months - 100 hours; 7.1.3.3.5 Typical terrain and landing situations - 100 hours; 7.1.3.3.6 Night flying - helicopter - 50 hours; 7.1.3.3.7 External load, long line - 100 hours; 7.1.3.3.8 In make and model within 60 days prior to Contract execution - 10 hours; and 7.1.3.3.9 Pilot experience shall include two (2) fire seasons of using a long line with bucket, from a hover position above streams, rivers, ponds, or other sources of water in order that rapid repeated drops of water can be made on wildland fires. Pilots must be proficient at loading and unloading the bucket by themselves, to and from the helicopter during fire suppression activities.
