Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Public Health (DPH), is seeking to contract with a vendor to develop a Providing Dental Care in Nursing Homes and Long Term Care Facilities Toolkit. The toolkit is a written document that will provide evidenced-based information, tools, and resources needed to implement the provision of dental care directly in nursing homes and long term care facilities by licensed dental professionals. Licensed professionals include Dentists and Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH). The toolkit will be used in nursing homes and long term care facilities by administrators and staff interested in contracting with or employing a dental professional to provide dental services to residents. In addition, the toolkit will be used by dental professionals interested in implementing a program to provide dental care. The dental care must be provided directly within the nursing home or long term care facilities. The focus of this project is on how a RDH can provide preventive dental care, but may also include information that is relevant for a dentist to provide restorative care.
