Specifications include, but are not limited to: The principal objective of the Species Recovery Grants to States Program is to support the development and implementation of States’ programs to conserve and recover threatened and endangered species under NMFS’ jurisdiction. Funding may also support monitoring of candidate species, species proposed for listing, and recently delisted species (see definitions below). Proposed activities may involve management, scientific research, monitoring, and outreach activities or any combination thereof. Proposals should include clear and specific information about how the work being proposed would contribute to species recovery. Successful applications will be those that demonstrate a direct conservation benefit to the species or its habitat.
