Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.2.1 Design the kitchen renovation and equipment modernization for a 30-year life expectancy, which should also account for future growth and expansion. 2.2.2 The Project will be conducted while the kitchen facilities are closed for operation, which will necessitate the replacement of food services for a period of six to eight months. While the County and the Contractor will be primarily responsible to direct the work on the Project, and cordon the work area from the rest of the jail, Architect will closely coordinate with all parties involved in the Project and will lend such assistance to these efforts as requested by the County. 2.2.2.1 Where requested by the County, the A/E will coordinate with the County’s contracted food service provider. 2.2.3 Due to the size of the project, it is expected the project will achieve a US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (“LEED®”) Gold certification. During programming, the A/E will develop a LEED® checklist outlining anticipated points and how the project will achieve certification. At the end of programming, the team will need to determine if LEED® is achievable and at what level. If a Gold Certification is not feasible, a variance request will need to be submitted to the mayor.
