Specifications include, but are not limited to: UNLV is seeking proposals for the renovation of its Student Union. This CMAR project includes creating a second floor Multicultural Center and Intersection, which will include additional student support services and flexible meeting spaces, and the buildout of the new Rebel Copy and Send and a Student Union & Event Services (SUES) Event Operations office. The plan will also focus on the buildout of a new OIT Center: consolidating the IT Help Desk, Rebel Card and the Computer Lab into one center to serve UNLV students, faculty and staff. The renovation will also build out a new SU Information Desk in the heart of the Union’s first floor and remodel the existing Theater space into a multi-use event space. The areas color coded in Exhibit D identify the project scope of work. The CMAR will be brought on to the project during the Design Development phase. The selected CMAR will review the final program, proposed design drawings, construction means and methods, project schedule and project cost. The CMAR should advise UNLV whether the cost is within the budget and provide input should the cost exceed the anticipated budget. The CMAR will provide options for cost savings and efficiencies that are consistent with the design program, function, quality and standards of UNLV. The CMAR will also provide a project cost estimation, project coordination and project scheduling through Permit/Bid Set. Pre-Construction work will be performed on a fixed price basis. The cost of the construction work will be based on a Guaranteed maximum Price (GMP). UNLV will request GMP’s per the Pre-Construction Contract for the base bid. The Architectural firm of Simpson Coulter Studio (SCS) and the Engineering firm, IMEG, have been selected to provide the design, construction documents and specifications for the project.
