Specifications include, but are not limited to: To develop electric field assist plasma sintering processing technology for high volume production of carbon/carbon & carbon/Sic composites for ballistic, hypersonic, and energy applications. To develop these technologies, the MERC is looking for a technology and prototype solutions provider with the necessary technology, experience, and rapid prototyping capability to produce small scall prototypes of up to 6 inches in diameter and 4 inches height.The supplier must have the following capabilities: Plasma sintering equipment of 5 tones press and 1,500 Amps capable of making items up to 1” in diameter Plasma sintering equipment of 100 tones press and 10,000 amps capable of making items up to 6” in diameter Tooling fabrication equipment Consulting and engineering capability to optimize Plasma Sintering capability - minimum of 5 years’ experience with plasma sintering technology
