Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. This request is on behalf of the Salt Lake County Health Department, which is passing through previously awarded grant funds that were awarded to the Kearns Coalition (previously known as Evidence 2 Success) by the Annie E. Casey foundation for MyKearns Coalition Support. In 2016 Salt Lake County was awarded funding through Annie E. Casey to support prevention strategies and efforts in Kearns, Utah. The original funding required Salt Lake County to provide dollars that would be matched; match funding was to be spent within the first two years of the grant. In undergoing grant-funded work, it was determined due to the nature of implementing the Communities that Care (CTC) prevention framework that funding would not be spent within the original timeline. Communication with Annie E. Casey allowed the County to extend the timeline, and we are now at organizational capacity to be able to expend the funding as intended. In order to uphold the Casey grant terms, all funds must support Kearns’ efforts with the Kearns coalition. The funding will be spent on youth court and other evidence-based strategies. Salt Lake County already holds the funds. MyKearns coalition now has the capacity to utilize the funds as outlined in the grant.
