Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University is requesting Design / Build services to design and to construct a new video replay system for Siebert Field (Baseball) and Jane Sage Cowles Stadium (Softball). The Big Ten Conference has directed that a video replay system must be implemented in advance of the 2025 softball and baseball season. In preparation, Intercollegiate Athletics (IA) and Capital Project Management (CPM) finalized a brief Feasibility Study in June 2023 to validate the general scope requirements for both facilities (see attached Feasibility Study dated June 8, 2023). Since this Study, the Big Ten has further refined their video replay requirements (camera locations / framing angles) as is noted in the attached Big Ten Video Replay Diagrams and Camera Framing documents. The selected Respondent will be responsible for developing drawings which detail the scope to meet the identified Big Ten requirements. Drawings are to be developed in consultation with IA, Facilities Management (FM), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Building Code Division (BCD), and CPM. Design Phases: Project will combine SD / DD phases. The Respondent is to develop a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) at the completion of the combined SD / DD Phase. Pending approval of the GMP the project will be approved for final design CDs and Construction. Design: The Respondent is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Big Ten / NCAA Video Replay design requirements and implement accordingly for the infrastructure / wiring, camera placement, head end equipment requirements, power, fiber / network, concrete replacement, and more. Cowles Game Day Cameras & Pitch Clock: As a Project Alternate for construction, the Respondent will coordinate the power and fiber routing for the four (4) game day cameras. In addition, the feed and install of two (2) pitch clocks which will be located at the outfield scoreboard and behind home plate. Design of these is to be included as base scope. Video Replay Cameras by Owner: Actual video replay cameras and headend equipment will be provided by Intercollegiate Athletics. The selected Respondent will be responsible for the following: Provide final testing of the system for permit signoff with the University of Minnesota Building Code Department (BCD). Develop construction logistics plans that will be reviewed with the on-site building manager and Capital Project Management (CPM) to manage the safety of student athletes / staff along with event schedules. Develop site access procedures, hours of operation, staging considerations, etc
