Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Overview: a. Contractor will demolish and dispose of the wood portions of the Boomer Lake Deck. b. The deck is located on an existing lake, over water, and the lake cannot be drained or lowered for this project. c. Boomer Lake Park is a popular and active location. The Kameoka Trail is in close proximity to the project site, and will be in active use by bikers, walkers, and runners. Contractor will need to plan for the presence of lake and park users during working hours and after working hours. d. The concrete beams and columns are to remain in place and are not a part of this project. e. The project location and additional details are provided in the attached photographs. The original plan for the wood deck is also attached for reference purposes. 2. Project Scope: a. Demolish, haul away, and properly dispose of all existing wood materials including decking, railings, joists and beams. Dispose of all debris in a licensed landfill. b. Carefully collect and properly dispose of all screws, nails, and fasteners, taking precautions to minimize debris dropping into the lake by using barriers or tarps to catch falling debris. c. Necessary permits are to be secured by the contractor prior to construction. City permits will be at no charge. d. Protect the Kameoka trail from damage due to heavy equipment. e. Ensure that the Kameoka Trail remains open and accessible when work is not in progress. f. Provide necessary traffic control along the park road during working hours. g. Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding demolition, disposal, and worker safety. h. Clearly mark and fence off the demolition area to discourage unauthorized access. 3. Post-Demolition Cleanup: a. Clear the site of dirt debris, nails, screws, fasteners, and other potential hazards. b. Fill any ruts and repair sod areas. 4. All work is to be completed within 30 calendar days from notice to proceed.
