Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Objective - Secure two abandoned buildings located at the subject address from unwanted entry per CSBC Sec 116.1; • Method of securing buildings - Areas noted as unsecured and allowing entry shall be obstructed from entry by installation of a minimum ½” CDX plywood adequately secured to the existing building structure. Alternative methods of securing from entry will be considered for certain locations • Areas noted as unsecured - Unsecured areas include but may not be limited to broken windows, unsecured or missing entry or access doors, broken or missing soffit panels (main chapel) other broken or missing building features large enough to allow public entry from existing grade and special unsecured locations Special unsecured locations include second level chapel windows accessible from adjacent roofs or any roof top structures with or without broken windows or opening large enough to allow unwanted entry • Method of secure - Each unsecured opening must be completely covered with 1/2” CDX plywood custom cut if needed installed as a whole or partially whole sheet. Plywood installation must be in direct contact to the existing structure for the full perimeter of the sheet or panel to prevent reach around access by hand or tool enabling levered removal. • Attachment hardware - Attachment hardware must be compatible to adequately attach panel to existing structure material. Typical existing structure material includes masonry, wood and metal. Attachment method to masonry should be Tap Con or equal designed for attachment to Masonry. Attachment method to metal should be self-tapping pan head type fastener. Attachment method to wood should be exterior grade coarse thread drywall type screw. *** All fasteners once installed should be embedded or stripped to discourage easy removal. • Existing conditions and remedy - Main chapel glass panes above level of board up and currently broken or partially intact should be knocked building inward to the greatest extent possible. Open panes above level of board up can remain open.
