Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Ames is seeking bids from qualified companies to furnish four (4) .308 caliber short acƟon rifles for the Police Department. Minimum specificaƟons for the rifles have been developed to meet the needs of the department and are listed below. Must be a bolt acƟon rifle. AcƟon must be bonded to chassis/stock with epoxy or similar substance. The safety mechanism must physically block the firing pin from striking the primer when engaged. The length of pull and comb height adjustments must be tool-less. The chassis/stock must be compaƟble with clip on night vision opƟcs. Can be an addiƟonal accessory and not included. Must have a folding buƩ stock. Must be chambered in .308 Winchester. Barrel length must be no longer than 18”, 16” preferred.
